Title:  The past, present, and future of AI

Description

In this talk, Hazel will reflect on the history of AI, the current state of the field, and its likely future trajectory. Participants will be encouraged to share their own reflections on the past, experiences in the present, and expectations for the future.

Speaker

Hazel Watson-Smith is a Conversation Engineer on the Machine Learning team at Marlee and was previously a Research Integration Engineer for the Autonomous Animation team at Soul Machines. Hazel is passionate about human-computer cooperation and making high-quality, reliable AI systems with heart. She has a degree in computer science and psychology focusing on human-computer interaction, human development, and cognitive perception.

Seminars will take place from 12-1:30 pm NZ time the first Sunday of every month except January. Topic and speaker details will be provided via Menzed and the Mensa NZ website. New Zealand Mensa members will also be notified by e-mail.
