Upcoming test dates in our other usual testing cities (Christchurch, Dunedin, and Nelson) are still TBC; testing sessions in other locations can be arranged as needed.  Contact our National Testing Coordinator, John DiLeo (national.testing@mensa.org.nz) for more information.

If you wish to register for a test and to be placed in contact with the appropriate people, please complete this fillable form and send to national.testing@mensa.org.nz

  • The fee to sit the test is $60 and for students or unwaged $45 (with appropriate ID). Please include a copy of your payment confirmation when you submit your Application to Sit Entry Test form.
  • If the date and time provided is not suitable, please apply for the test and let the tester know. We will arrange a suitable time and date.
  • NOTE: This test is given for the purpose of entry to Mensa. Your IQ score will not be given, only whether or not your performance on the test has  qualified you for membership (i.e., your score placed you in the 98th or 99th percentile).

Entry to Mensa is open to those whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population

Generally, there are two ways to prove that you qualify for Mensa: either take the supervised Mensa test or submit a qualifying test score from another supervised test. You can also try the Mensa Home Test if you are interested in joining Mensa but not sure if you want to take the supervised test (this does not count as an eligibility test).

You can apply to sit a supervised Mensa admission test by filling out the online application form. Testing sessions are held regularly in the main centres, and at other centres in New Zealand when required.

You can bypass our testing process if you have achieved a score above the 98th percentile in any IQ test conducted in-person by a registered psychologist and approved by our supervisory psychologist. Simply provide prior evidence of another intelligence test including the test score. If your evidence and the score is accepted you'll be invited to join.

All new members receive secure login details to the Members Area which contains information about other members and their interests.
