Applying to Mensa New Zealand

If you wish to sit a Mensa New Zealand entry test, please complete the fillable Application to Sit an Entry Test form.

The test fee will convert into a one-year membership subscription if you successfully pass the test.

Please return your completed form to national.testing@mensa.org.nz alongside paying the associated fee.

Concessions require a valid ID or proof of entitlement.

Please contact the Membership Officer at membership@mensa.org.nz if you are interested in proceeding with a Prior Evidence Application.

• There is an application fee of $60 Adults, or $45 U18/Retired/Unwaged/Student which converts into a one year membership subscription if successful
• Unwaged/Student concession requires valid ID or proof of entitlement
• Please note -
  • Full documentation must be received
  • All documentation must be the original or a notarized copy of the original
  • Tests must be administered by a neutral and qualified third party in a traditional testing environment under conditions appropriate for the norming standards of each test (such as the classroom of a certified schoolteacher or a registered psychologist).
  • Automated online IQ test results are not accepted

If you are or previously have been a member of another national Mensa (or are a current/former direct international member), and wish to join Mensa New Zealand, please complete the fillable Transfer of Membership form.

If you hold a current subscription in your home country the remaining portion of the subscription can be transferred to your Mensa New Zealand membership. If you do not hold a current subscription, a subscription with Mensa New Zealand will be required to finalise your membership.

If you wish to apply for guest membership with Mensa New Zealand, please complete the fillable Guest Membership form.

To be eligible for guest membership you must hold a current subscription with your national Mensa (or current direct international membership) and this must remain current for the duration of your stay.

Benefits of guest membership -

• access to the Members Area of the Mensa New Zealand website,
• access to M New Zealand or the Young Adults of Mensa New Zealand private Facebook groups,
• monthly digital edition of Menzed Magazine deliver via email,
• eligibility to attend all area/local and national gatherings held during your stay.
